Genus Narcissus, common name Daffodil. From the famous Greek myth of Narcissus, a very handsome youth, granted his looks by the Gods, with a catch, he was to never look upon his reflection lest his immortality be taken from him. Some Ideas for Successful Gardening
- Avoid using garden soil in containers because of its less than ideal texture and the potential for weed seed and insect problems.
- Sometimes everyday kitchen scraps are all your garden needs... Coffee grounds and tea leaves make great soil additives.
- Add soil conditioners and additives, natural and organic fertilizers such as compost while double digging your new spring garden beds.
- Test any old seeds you may have stored by germinating them between layers of moist paper towels. Apply bottom heat for faster germination. Try the top of the fridge.
